Impact Report:
Renaissance Star Reading and Renaissance Accelerated Reader 

This 2016 independent study, carried out by Professor Keith Topping, shows that students using Accelerated Reader and following Best Practice grew significantly more than students in schools where the programme was not implemented well


The study found students using Accelerated Reader who:


  • Scored over 85% in their quizzes on average

  • Had over 30 minutes of engaged reading time every day


Showed 'higher gain' in their Star Reading results than students who did not meet these criteria.  The study found a 'clear positive relationship' between Best Practice use of Accelerated Reader and Student Growth Percentile (SGP).
